CWC 2023 Sri lanka vs Zimbabwe Super Sixes Qualifiers Match Highlights – Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by 9 wickets to qualify for the World Cup 2023 final.

Host Zimbabwe scored 165 runs while batting first. In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the target of 166 by scoring 169 runs in 33.1 overs.

Sri Lankan team captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and decided to bowl first. Zimbabwe (ZIM) faced Sri Lanka in the 4th Super Six match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023 on 2 July.
The game was held at 12:30 PM IST at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Sri Lanka, led by Dasun Shanaka, were also going into the match brimming with confidence, having beaten Netherlands in their first Super Six match.

Sri Lanka’s victory was tied to the head of Maheesh Teekshana. He took 4/25 in 8.1 overs.

Apart from Teekshana, Dilshan Madhushanka took three wickets.

Zimbabwe captain Sean Williams scored a half-century of 56, while Sikandar Raza made 31. The rest of the batsmen could not perform well.

Pathum Nissanka scored the first century –

Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka scored the first ODI century of his career. He scored 101 not out off 102 balls at a strike rate of 99.02. Nissanka’s innings included 14 fours. D Karunaratne contributed 30 and Kusal Mendis contributed 25 not out.
