ODI World Cup 2023 Australian team has been announced. This Cricket World Cup is starting in India from 5 October 2023.

The most surprising names among the 18 probables selected for the World Cup are uncapped leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha and inexperienced all-rounder Aaron Hardie.

Test team’s star player Marnus Labuschagne has not been included in the ODI World Cup team.

Pat Cummins has been made the captain of the team. Cummins is still injured, but it is expected that he will be fully fit before the World Cup.

Teams participating in the World Cup can have 15 players in their squad and teams can also name 3 stand-by players.

These teams have to give the final list to the International Cricket Council by 28 September.

Sangha and Hardy’s team selection is surprising :

The inclusion of Tanveer Sangha in the probable World Cup 2023 squad is surprising as the 21-year-old Sangha has been away from cricket since last September.

He suffered a fractured back during the home match at Coffs Harbour, after which he did not play any domestic matches.

Tanveer Sangha’s father Joga Sangha is a resident of Rahimpur, a village near Jalandhar in Punjab. Tanveer’s father is a taxi driver in Sydney, while his mother Upneet works as an accountant in Sydney.

Aaron Hardy has scored 194 runs in List A matches at an average of 24 and has also taken 15 wickets.

Hardy is a bowling all-rounder who bowls medium fast.
