Kamala Harris Promises Shift from Biden Administration in Heated Fox News Interview | Kamala Harris Vows to Distinguish Her Leadership from Biden’s in Fiery Fox News Interview

In a combative interview with Fox News on Wednesday night, Kamala Harris declared that her presidency “would not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s,” signaling a clear departure from the current administration’s policies. Harris also took aim at Donald Trump, condemning his ongoing rhetoric about “the enemy within.”

The 25-minute interview marked a significant moment as it was the first time Harris sat down with the right-wing network, known for its strong support of Trump. The conversation followed a rally in Pennsylvania, where Harris addressed an audience that included over 100 Republican officials.

Fox News’s chief political anchor, Bret Baier, is often regarded as a more balanced journalist compared to the network’s fiery evening commentators. However, his interview with Kamala Harris still focused heavily on right-wing topics, such as immigration, transgender rights, and Joe Biden’s leadership, as Harris aimed to appeal to Fox News’s older, predominantly Republican audience. During the interview, Baier asked Harris if there was anything she “would do differently” from President Biden. He then played a clip from a previous interview in which Harris stated that “not a thing comes to mind” regarding changes she would have made. This response has since become a talking point for Republicans, who are eager to link Harris closely to the Biden administration, which has faced declining approval ratings.

“My presidency will be distinct from Joe Biden’s,” Harris stated. “Like every new president, I will bring my own life and professional experiences, along with fresh ideas. I represent a new generation of leadership.”

Harris emphasized her openness to diverse perspectives, saying, “As someone who hasn’t spent most of my career in Washington, I welcome ideas from everyone—whether it’s Republicans who support me, business leaders, or others who can contribute to my decision-making.”

Baier then highlighted polls showing that most Americans feel the country is “on the wrong track” and asked why this sentiment persists while she’s been vice president since 2021. Harris suggested that this dissatisfaction stems from a broader fatigue with both Biden and Trump, noting that Trump has been running for office since 2016.

Harris pointed out that several prominent former Trump administration officials now view him as “unfit to serve, unstable, dangerous,” and noted that “people are exhausted with someone who claims to be a leader but spends his time demeaning others and engaging in personal grievances.”

Baier questioned why, despite those criticisms, Trump still enjoys support from “half the country,” asking, “Are they stupid?”

Harris responded, “I would never say that about the American people. In fact, if you listen to Donald Trump or watch his rallies, he’s the one who often demeans, belittles, and diminishes the American people.”

She continued, “He’s the one who speaks about an ‘enemy within,’ referring to the American people, and has even suggested turning the military against them.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump appeared in a Fox News town hall where he reiterated his remarks about “the enemy from within.” He identified this internal threat as his political opponents, including “the Pelosis,” and suggested the military should “handle” them.

Following the announcement that Baier would be interviewing Harris, Trump reacted angrily on social media, accusing the anchor of being “soft on the ‘cocktail circuit’ left” and falsely claiming that Fox News had “grown weak and soft on the Democrats.”

While Baier is considered a contrast to the more radical primetime hosts like Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters, his interview still focused heavily on right-wing topics.

He played a Trump campaign ad, which he suggested was among the few political ads to “break through” this year. The ad quoted an interview with Harris in 2019, when she said she supported “surgical care” for trans prisoners.

Trump has spent tens of millions on anti-transgender advertising, but Harris brushed off the issue, pointing out that “under Donald Trump’s administration, these surgeries were available on a medical necessity basis, to people in the federal prison system”.

“And I think, frankly, that ad from the Trump campaign is a little bit of like throwing, you know, stones when you’re living in the glass house,” she said.

Harris is reportedly in talks to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast, the most popular in the U.S., with a significant following among young men. Trump, who declined to participate in a second debate on CNN with Harris, has confirmed that he will be a guest on Rogan’s podcast.
